Research into other illustrators

i looked into other illustrators (Dr Suess, Jim Flora, Maurice Sendak, and Miroslav Sasek) and theirs styles, - through doing so i realised my work lacked dynamic. i tend to over complicate things and not think so much about composition and design, this is clear in comparison to Sasek's work in perticularly. This is really important, especially when looking at imagination. In my previous work i have added everything in and not giving the viewer much space to think for themselves. Everything is there and handed to them. I want to make my work a bit more simple, give my audience some space to think for themselves and add in their own bit, and actually use their imagination!!
